REVIEW 1
WR, Realfighting's founder/Publisher:
Most defense oriented instructional videos on the market
today are so ridiculous that they border on the irresponsible;
and many of the gun and knife counters on these tapes look
more like a Jackie Chan movie rather than a realistic solution
to the problem. But the most distressing thing is that many
people actually believe in these preposterous moves.
Nevertheless, every once in a while I come across a superior
instructional video, with content so practical and efficient
that I wonder "why hasn't anyone else done this before?"
This is the case with Moni Aizik's instructional DVD's. Moni
has just released the first two instructional DVD's from an
eventual 10-DVD set, based on his proprietary system, Combat
Survival. Moni introduces viewers to the fundamentals of defenses
and counters for choke escapes, punching/kicking, ground escapes,
the knife, and gun disarms. In addition the DVD's also cover
break falls (something you don't find too often), pressure
points, and surviving surprise attacks.
Both DVD's start out with a short movie clip reenacting a
fight scene. In the clip, Moni utilizes a variety of techniques
which he demonstrates on the DVD's. Drawing from his vast
wealth of experience as a former Major in the Israeli army,
a judo champion, jujitsu practitioner, trainer of many well-known
no-holds-barred champions, and currently, contracted instructor
for Israel's Special Forces, Moni introduces techniques he
has field-tested and that are proven for their functionality
and practicality.
I was particularly impressed with Moni's gun disarms; if performed
as instructed, they are extremely fast, but most importantly,
they are also safe! The $69.95 price for both DVD's is worth
it, just for the disarms alone.
Here are three hours of solid concepts and techniques that
can be learned directly off the DVD by professionals as well
as newcomers with very little experience or training; -- and
isn't that the point of any instructional DVD?

REVIEW 2
Jay Madden (Customer) SHAWNEE,OK.
U.S.A
Mr. Moni Aizik,
One word comes to mind after viewing DVD 1 & 2: UNREAL!
I can't believe how much information is included in a 2 DVD
set. I have heard that you intend to have 10 DVDs before
you are done. That amazes me. 8 DVDs left; how
much more could you possibly show us?
I ordered this set because of all the good things I have heard
about you, Moni. Let me say that no one has conveyed
just how knowledgeable, charismatic, salient and conditioned
you are.
Which reminds me: are you going to show the rest of us how
you stay in such phenomenal shape? Is that going to
be in a future DVD? I wouldn't mind a little insight
either way, *hint, hint*, *wink, wink*. I am beginning
a weight-training program, but I hear that you are not so
much of a weightlifter per say. I believe realfighting.com
wrote that you follow a physical conditioning regimen all
your own that includes running cross-country, etc. No
one would believe that you are over 40 by looking at you.
Enough shameless butt-kissing for the moment, ha ha; back
to the DVDs.
You give the novice a broad range of knowledge that is immediately
useful. Just learning how to break a front choke hold
was presented in such a way that few instructors know how
to. It was simple yet extremely effective without relying
on superior strength. The DVDs go on to include gun
and knife disarms, striking evasion and counterattacking,
and ground survival. These are cornerstones of
all the "gurus" of self defense. What was
different about your techniques is that they are easily learned,
simple in application, and work regardless of size or strength.
Also, other than George Dillman and a few others, a person can
not find effective pressure point training.
I have to admit to my being slightly skeptical about your
measuring up to all the hype, but rest assured, I am thoroughly
convinced. You have a customer and a virtual student
for life. Maybe one day after I reach a decent level
of proficiency, I will find the time and resources to meet
and train with you at one of your seminars. Until then,
thanks. Thanks for the opportunity to learn from you
and to know that I do not have to live a life of fear.
Sincerely,
Jay Madden
